The toilet ventilation
A composting toilet, like the SETRENLO®, produces significantly fewer unpleasant odors than other toilets. However, it can't be completely eliminated. To ensure you don't smell anything, we've developed a completely new toilet ventilation system.
It's already integrated into the SETRENLO® toilet and sits directly above the solid waste container. It extracts the polluted air directly from where it originates.

How it works
The toilet vent consists of two components: the activated carbon filter and the fan unit. A powerful yet quiet fan is installed in the fan unit. The installed vibration dampers ensure that the fan's vibrations are not transmitted to the housing. It is available in 12V or 24V versions.
The fan draws in air from the interior of the composting toilet. This air then flows through the vegan activated carbon granules, where the unpleasant odors are absorbed. The virtually odorless air is then expelled outside.
This works so well that it is not necessary to use litter in the SETRENLO® toilet.
Of course, every installation is a little different. That's why we offer you the option of choosing the outlet position. When ordering, you can specify whether you prefer it on the left, right, or rear—whatever best suits your environment.
Replace activated carbon once a year
The activated carbon filter is already filled with vegan activated carbon from SETRENLO®. You'll need to replace it once a year to ensure proper function. We also include 1L of activated carbon. This will provide you with enough for the first three years.

To replace the activated carbon, you need to remove the entire activated carbon container and unscrew it. The seat is in the middle, and you can simply pull it down. You can do this easily from the front or the back, depending on how the toilet is installed.
To access it from the front, you'll need to remove the urine tank (if present) and the solids container. This is easy if you also remove the divider insert.

The activated carbon filter has a screw cap on one side. You simply unscrew this to access the activated carbon. You can simply throw the used one in the general waste. Then fill it with the new one.

O-rings must be greased
Before inserting the container, please ensure that the O-rings on the left and right are still intact. To ensure that you can easily push the container back in, please lightly grease the O-rings. However, do not use any mineral oil-based grease. Simply coconut oil or Vaseline will suffice.
